0️⃣9️⃣ IWD is Coming and So is The New Government + More Germany's News in English, Jobs, Housing Offers and This Week's Events in Berlin
Hello dear IWBies ✨
We’re heading into International Women’s Day week (reminder: it’s a public holiday in Berlin!). Our event section is a little longer this time because there are so many great things happening around the city to mark the day. Including our own special event with Adidas—completely free!
It’s also a good moment to remember that IWB—group, events, newsletter, and website—is run by immigrant women (mostly non-European, non-white). And, surprise, surprise—our work, like most women’s work, is undervalued in our society. In Germany, women-led and immigrant-led initiatives are more important than ever (you know why), and we need your support to keep this project going. You can start with just €1! If you want to learn more about what we do, check out this link:
Thank you for being with us!

To run IWB, there’s a group of 6 women, mostly women of color, taking care of different tasks to keep the whole IWB project running. As we continue to grow, our responsibilities grow as well, and we are basically doing this job that takes a lot of our energy, time and mental health for free.
”You give a little, you take a little”
Our ✨dream✨ is to keep supporting the community of women* in Berlin as much as we can, with events, helpful resources, support groups… and in return, we would get at least 1€ from each member that got something positive out of IWB. We host over 36k people right now… even if we got 20k every month, we could hire immigrant women, pay them fairly and find a small whole in the middle of the patriarchal, capitalist system that usually underpays women.
Let's be the change we want to see and not reproduce outdated and harmful systems 💖
To motivate people to support our work, we are giving back some cool perks!
