Dear IWBie,

Yes, we went quiet last week. No, we didn’t ghost you.

We were a little busy trying to save democracy in Brazil. Between election day, group chats on fire and refreshing results well past midnight Berlin time, there wasn’t much of us left to write a newsletter.

Now we’re back.

So, what ‘s inside? Gen Z taking to the streets across Germany and the very German ritual of “burping” your flat every single day (it’s called Lüften, and no, November is not an excuse). On the event’s side, it’s a week of candles and colour: Día de los Muertos dinners, Diwali lights, tango nights and a Drag Festival.

✨ SUPPORT OUR WORK STARTING WITH 1€ ✨

Every edition of this newsletter is made by a small team of immigrant women in our free time, between day jobs, German classes and, apparently, the occasional presidential election. If IWB has ever saved you a Google search, found you a room or simply made Berlin feel a bit smaller, a coffee’s worth of support keeps us going.

Until next week, open a window, light a candle and enjoy.

With love,
Sabrina & your IWB team 💖
