Our Founder Bruna Silva Talks about the Part & the Future of IWB
Dear IWB Family,
Happy new year! To start this year with the right foot, we would like to have quick a talk with our community :)
Five years ago, I created the IWB group with no expectations, just the desire facilitate the connection and support among women in Berlin. Today, I am both shocked and immensely proud of what we've become: a vibrant community of women eager to help, connect, and share invaluable tips. With time, this group has evolved organically into something far greater than I ever imagined, and it's all thanks to you. 💖
✨The Evolution of IWB
We just hit the great number of 37k members and almost 14k followers on our 2-year Instagram 🥳 As we've grown in number of people, I've come to realize that the responsibilities and the tasks were also growing.
Managing IWB was turing into more than a passion project; it's a full-time commitment. Behind the scenes, there are countless "invisible" tasks that keep our community thriving at the highest level possible. From content creation to event organization and community management, the work is endless and, until now, has been sustained mostly on a voluntary basis.
👀Behind the Scenes: The Unseen Efforts that Fuel IWB
To execute all the IWB task, Im not doing this by myself. IWB is only possible because there’s a small group of volunteers, all immigrants navigating their paths just like you, stepped up to support our vision. The problem? Well, there’s two:
Navigating the life in Berlin isn’t easy. That’s why those volunteers, who are helping IWB for free, usually after 3 weeks or a month, they leave the project to focus on their own paths.
The second problem is that we need to keep securing volunteers and to onboard them and manage the volunteer team, is an extra work by itself.
That’s why we are trying to hire a team of women to work full time or part time with IWB, for a long period.
👯♀️Our Goal: Hire a Dedicated Team for IWB
We want to take IWB to the next level and impact even more women by hiring a dedicated team of women. Women supporting women, both ways - how amazing would that be?! 🥰. Could you help us turning this feminist dream into reality? We receive countless messages expressing gratitude for the community and its impact. While these words warm our hearts, the truth is, maintaining and growing this platform involves a lot of work.
🤩 More Ideas, More Projects = More Positive Impact
Having a paid team to fully support the IWB initiative, we will reach new milestones, for example:
An IWB podcast where we will host women from our community telling their unique and inspiring stories
We’ve launched the IWB News portal, and we need people creating helpful content to keep it alive
People taking care of our social media to create more inspiring and helpful content, based on the needs of our community
Expand this initiative to other cities in Germany and in Europe, in the future
Organise more events and more niched events (big, small, professional, for queer women, women of color, etc)
IWB Fund: We have an ambitious idea of donating part of this money every month to different NGOs around the world and even to have an emergency money to help IWB in emergency situations.

Connections with Investors & Sponsors: If you have contacts in the investment or sponsorship sphere, introduce them to IWB. Collaborations and support can take us to new heights.
